Bonnie Cavanaugh - On June 4, our loving God called Bonnie home. As many of you know, a few Februarys ago Bonnie was diagnosed with cancer and was told that she probably would not celebrate Christmas. Well, Bonnie celebrated two more Christmas seasons and then some with her beloved family and friends. Though she was healing at her home in Ormond Beach to be near her children, grandchildren and great grandson, Carson, she did come back here from time to time as the parish was dear to her. All the while, she handled the books for husband, Bob's business and made sure that all the various events they funded and supported at Holy Name School continued. When Bob got some time from one job to another and would head south to be with Bonnie, I would call her to warn her that "he's on his way, good luck." Truth be told, we saw that huge, kind heart that Bob had for the parish, Holy Name, any need or cause, become singularly focused with incredible love and prayer towards Bonnie, his wife of more than 50 years. Bob truly lived his marriage vows especially profoundly these last few years. We will celebrate a memorial Mass sometime late summer or early fall when things settle down, restrictions fully lifted and all can celebrate a life well lived. In the meantime, please continue to pray for Bob, his children, Paula and Brian, and their families.
