Mass & Sanctuary Candle Intentions Scheduling
Mass requests can be made by mail, email, phone, or in person. The Mass book remains open for the whole year and are scheduled first come first served. Here are a few guidelines when requesting Mass Intentions.
Memorial Masses:
Many people request monthly, yearly, or novena masses in memory of a loved one. These requests should be made in writing by email, mail, or in person at the office. We will try our best to accommodate the date desired.
Mass intention requests made in memory of a loved one must be made clear when sending your donation. Please write on the Memo Line if sending a check “Mass Intention Request” or “Memorial Masses” so we know that the donation is for Masses. If you already know the date of the Masses, please include these dates on the memo line as well. You can also include a separate note included with your check. If there is no indication your donation is for Masses, your donation will be included in general donations made to the church, which is greatly appreciated. Please include your name and phone number so we may contact you for any reason.

For the convenience of our parishioners attending Mass on Sundays, Mass intention envelopes are provided at the front entrance table of the Cathedral & St. Joseph. Parishioners should have already made their request before giving the donation. Parishioners must complete the information on the envelope and place their donation inside. The envelope can be deposited in the Sunday collection basket.
Bulletin & Announced Masses:
Intentions must be received by the Monday before the week requested, keeping in mind the limit of intentions as noted above as well as any days the office is closed or staff vacation days. Bulletin deadlines are also published in the bulletin for the benefit of parishioners. Click here: BULLETIN. The bulletin is due earlier during the Holidays to ensure we received them in a timely manner. The intention is always said aloud by the celebrant at the beginning of the mass as well as during the prayer of the faithful.
Mass Cards:
Mass cards are available. There are Mass cards for living & deceased intentions in English and Spanish for the Cathedral and St. Joseph. Mass cards may be mailed to the recipient upon request.
Pro Populo Masses:
For “People of the Parish” Masses are scheduled once a week, as requested by the Diocese. Additional masses are scheduled at the discretion of the pastor such as on Holy Days.

The Masses on these dates are offered for those names written on the envelopes and the envelopes are tied with ribbon and placed by the Tabernacle for the entire month. The envelope can be deposited in the collection basket.

The sanctuary lamp by the Tabernacle at the Cathedral & St. Joseph may be burned in honor or a loved one, living or deceased, or for a special intention. The donation suggested is $20. The lamp will burn for one week, Sunday through Saturday, for one intention.
